‘In celebration of their 10th anniversary, design house – Alexander McQueen collaborated with artist Damien Hirst, and produced a collection of 30 limited edition scarfs which were released mid 2013.  The patterns were adapted from Hirst’s ‘entomology’ series. These original, large-scale paintings were composed from the intricate placement of butterflies, spiders and various insect species in the formation of kaleidoscopic, geometric shapes.’

McQueen’s scarves were one of the last designs he produced before his tragic death in 2014. Naturally they became popular amongst brand enthusiasts and collectors and sold out quickly worldwide.

The rarity of these scarfs make them hard to come by, and when we do manage to get our hands on one (like with our signature vintage Hermes framed scarves), we usually sell them before we even get a chance to marvel at their gloriousness.

I guess that’s why we are so excited to finally have the opportunity to have one starring in our showroom in Ap Lei Chau. Her brothers and sisters – the stunning ‘butterfly kaleidoscope’ and ‘panegyric skull’ scarves have both previously sold within 24 hours of us receiving them!

We live in an ever-changing, fast-paced city where most of us rent instead of buy, and a ‘home’ will likely be changed every few years. A clever and mobile alternative to wall paper, and a quick art-piece statement, it’s no wonder that framing textiles has become such a popular trend in recent years.

Framed textiles, like our framed scarves, create a visual focus in any room. It’s a quick and easily solution to a blank wall and a guarantee in creating personality as well as adding the perfect amount of drama and style to your space.  The plus side to these stunning, forever pieces is, unlike wall paper which would ordinarily do the trick, you can take them with you when you move on – beauty.
